THE REV. JOSEPH SREDZINSKI, pastor of St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church in Point Marion, has been elected to the Polish American Priests Association Board of Directors at its 13th annual convention recently held in Milwaukee, Wis. P.A.P.A. was founded in San Antonio, Tex., by Bishop John Yanta and includes over 3,570 members serving the Polish-American communities as priests.

ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH, located at South Union Fire Hall near the corner of Lebanon Avenue and South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, announces Barbara Hays will present special music at Sunday’s 10:45 a.m. worship service. Pastor Nicholas Cook will deliver the sermon.

ALLISON CHRISTIAN CHURCH will offer Kids Night Out today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with fun, food and fellowship. The outreach ministry will have a penny sale on Sunday before the 9 a.m. church service. The children will collect loose change and wrapped pennies. The outreach ministry is also collecting Bibles and Bible-related materials to be sent to “Hands for Christ.’ New and gently used Bibles will be collected.

ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH, Edenborn, will celebrate its 87th church anniversary on Sunday. Guest speaker for the 3:30 p.m. program will be the Rev. Leonard Kirby, pastor of City Chapel Church from Uniontown. His chorus and congregation will accompany him. Dinner will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. Florence Overton is chairwoman. The Rev. Solomon Dotson is host pastor.

ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street in Uniontown, announces on Sunday at the 9 a.m. casual worship service, the Rev. James Fogg will lead hymns and praise choruses, accompanied by Jim Hutchinson. The 11 a.m. traditional blended worship service will include the Asbury Chancel Choir, directed by William Dreucci, with the additional of several praise and commitment choruses and songs led by the praise team of Becky Johnson and Barb and Paul Cramer and the Passing of Peace. The children’s choir, directed by Marsha Brady, will sing. The sacrament of baptism will be administered to Leo Joseph Petrucci, son of Joe and Meghan Petrucci. Loving Nursery Care is available for infants and children under 4. Children’s Church is available for all children age 4 and older. Rev. Fogg will deliver the message “World Changers’ at both services.

Youth Fellowship, for youths in grades six through 12, will meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. to clean the church cemetery and conclude at 8:30 p.m.

BROWNSVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHARGE announces the Betty Reicks Concert will be at West Bend Church at 6 p.m. on April 28. Meanwhile, this Sunday, the Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr. will speak on “Take It Easy’ at 8:30 a.m. worship at West Bend, 10 a.m. at South Brownsville and 11 a.m. at Brownsville First. FAITH ASSEMBLY OF GOD, 690 Morgantown Road, Uniontown, welcomes special guest Ray Comfort to preach the message “The God of America’ at Sunday’s 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services. Comfort has written more than 35 books. His videos were seen by more than 30,000 pastors in 1992. Christian leaders such as Josh McDowell, Dr. James Kennedy, Franklin Graham, Bill Gothard and David Wilkerson have commended him. The Valley Forge Christian College Youth Band, Salvage, will lead worship for both services.

Dick Gruber from Valley Forge Christian College will present Sam Super Sleuth with puppets and music in Children’s Church during both morning services.

At the 6 p.m. service, Chilly Chilton, teacher in the Youth Ministries Department at Valley Forge Christian College, presents an illustrated sermon entitled “The Chair.’

The board of trustees has announces plans for the church’s annual spring-cleaning. Volunteers are needed to help on Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, at 8 a.m. Bring buckets, sponges and cleaning rags.

Pleasant View’s Church Family Committee has announced its second annual tailgate party will be held on Sunday, May 5, immediately following worship, in the church’s pavilion. The event will raise money for the PVPC Medical Aid Fund, which is administered by the Session and exists for the purpose of helping members and friends who unexpectedly find themselves facing extraordinary medical expenses not covered by insurance. The party will be like tailgating in the lot just outside PNC Park before a Pirates’ game, complete with hot dogs, chips and cold drinks. PVPC Youth Fellowship Group will go cosmic blowing on Sunday May 5, with youths from New Salem and Trinity (Uniontown) Presbyterian Churches. In addition, final plans have been made for the youth concert and rally on Saturday, May 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at PVPC’s pavilion that will feature the Christian rock band Three Thirty Three. POINT MARION UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 502 Morgantown St., will present a seminar on wills, trusts and estate planning’ on April 28 at 1 p.m. Topics include: guardianship of minor children, federal and state tax rules, the value of a will and how to have one prepared as well as a discussion on the use of trusts. The seminar will be under the leadership of Joseph Reasinger of the United Methodist Foundation and will include ample time for individual questions. There is no charge.

ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF PITTSBURGH announces that Megan Young of St. Ann Parish in the Greene Deanery is a recipient of the 2002 Eagle of the Cross Award. This is a national award given annually to high school juniors or seniors from each of the diocese’s 16 deaneries and 11 Catholic high schools who have shown exemplary leadership skills, service, spirituality and involvement in their youth ministry programs, parishes and/or schools. Their pastors, youth ministers, catechetical administrators and principals nominated the winners.
