Sophia Roskey Baron, 82, of McClellandtown R.D.1, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 18, 2002, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington, Pa. She was born March 25, 1920, in Searights, Pa., one of six daughters of Felix Roskey and Mary Bogusz Roskey.

Sophia was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa.

She was married for 53 years to Frank Baron. He passed away on May 24, 1992.

Also deceased, in addition to her husband, are her parents are two sisters, Alice Kaminsky and Rose Ringer.

Surviving are her sons, Edward J. Baron and his wife, Frances, of Bracey, Virginia, Kenneth E. Baron and his wife, Margaret, of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Bracey, Virginia, Frank J. Baron of McClellandtown, Pa., and daughter, Carol S. Lingis and her husband, David, of Vestaburg, Pa.

She was a Grandmother to eight grandchildren: Edward Baron, Kimberly Baron Thomas, Melissa Baron Timm, Andrea Baron Adams, Bret Baron, Breanne Baron, David Lingis, and Michael Lingis.

“Nanny” was a loving Great-Grandmother to six great-grandchildren: Stephen Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Mary Margaret Adams, Emily Adams, Hunter Timm and Logan Timm.

She is also survived by these sisters: Stella Butts of Connellsville, Pa., Louise Bunda of Uniontown, Pa., and Florence Yedzreyek and her husband, Paul, of Searights, Pa.

Visitation was held in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Brief Prayers were said in the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, with Rev. Fr. Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.

Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
