Colleen Ball Morgan
Colleen Ball Morgan died Friday, April 19, 2002, in Bristol Manor, Uniontown, Pa., at the age of 105. She was the daughter of the late Harriet Miller Ball and Dr. Richard Ball.
Her family home on National Pike West in Haddenville, Menallen Township, Pa., was the place of her birth on September 8, 1896. She continued to live there through her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Morgan married Daniel Stentz Morgan in 1927. He preceded her in death in 1981. Their only child, Dana Morgan Duddy, died in January 1995.
After graduating from Indiana Normal School (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) in 1917, she taught for seven years at Philips School.
For several years following her teaching career she was a Personal Shopper for Kaufmann’s Department Store in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mrs. Morgan held numerous offices in a variety of organizations including the Dolly Madison Chapter of the Daughters of 1812, and for 43 years the Great Meadows Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she held such positions as Regent Officer and Registrar. Other organizations included the Menallen Grange, the Daughters of the American Colonists, and the Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary Association.
She is survived by two grandchildren: Emily Morgan Prescott of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Mark Morgan Duddy of Scottsdale, Arizona; two great-grandchildren: Carter Lee Prescott and Morgan Duddy; and her son-in-law, George J. Duddy of Nashville, Tennessee.
Friends will be received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday, April 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 24, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Reverend William D. Rodahaver officiating.
Interment follows in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.
