West Brownsville council hires street commissioner

By J.S. Augustine For The 1 min read

WEST BROWNSVILLE – Council hired a Fredericktown man as the full-time street commissioner. After a 15-minute executive session, council hired Robin Baine to fill the position formerly held by Randy Stimmel, who was fired last month for insubordination.

At the special meeting held Monday evening, borough officials met in executive session to discuss filling the full-time vacant street commissioner position and review of applications.

Councilman Larry Beck made the motion to hire Baine and Councilman Gary Bennett offered the second, with the board unanimously approving the hire.

Board President Patricia Maxon said that Baine was the most qualified of the applicants.

Baine is expected to start immediately, pending results from his drug and alcohol test and a physical that the borough requires. Baine will then be on six months probation.

The board noted that they are accepting applications for a part-time street commissioner.
