Hopwood church to host spring revival

2 min read

Hopwood Free Methodist Church will host a special spring revival April 28-May 1, with national speaker Bay Forrest of Kingdom Building Ministries of Colorado as evangelist. Forrest was a 6-foot, 10-inch man, a former All-American at Grand Canyon University who went on to play three years with the Phoenix Suns until a back injury forced his retirement.

He spent the next several years in Colorado as a youth pastor and retreat speaker. In 1986, he left with his family for Kenya, East Africa, where he and his wife, Peggy, served with Africa Inland Mission for five years as dorm parents and teachers at Rift Valley Academy, a school for missionary children.

In 1992, Forrest, his wife and four children returned to Pagosa Springs, Colo., where they base FOCUS (Fresh Outlook Centering Upon the Savior) Ministries.

Believing that the Christian life is both relevant and exciting, their desire is to lead both teen-agers and adults to a deeper spiritual level. Using stories and illustrations from his experiences in sports, Africa and life, Forrest speaks at universities, conferences, retreats and churches.

Hopwood Free Methodist Church is located at 114 Hopwood-Coolspring Road, just off Route 40 in Hopwood. The Rev. Bill Moull is pastor. Forrest will speak at the church at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday and at 6:30 p.m. daily.
