Candidacy announced Mildred Hagerty is announcing her candidacy for Democratic State Committee.

The Franklin Township resident is president of the Women’s Democrat Club of Uniontown and Vicinity. She was the former tax collector and now serves as an elected auditor.

Hagerty said she is committed to the principles of the Democratic Party, noting she has served on the state committee since 1988 and has honored her obligation to represent Fayette County.

State committee members meet four times a year to promote the Democratic Party and to endorse candidates for statewide offices.

If elected, Hagerty vowed to continue to represent Fayette County at all meetings.
