Brownsville man rejects jail term offer

By Jennifer Harr 2 min read

Phillip “Moo” Mosley II rejected a six-to-23-month jail term Monday for allegedly putting three police officers in danger when he lead them on a car chase last November. Mosley, 21, of 409 Green St., Brownsville, is charged with three counts of recklessly endangering another person, one count of fleeing and eluding police and 14 summary citations.

Incarcerated in Fayette County Prison, Mosley appeared unrepresented in Fayette County Court Monday. At his February preliminary hearing, Mosley was represented by attorney and state Rep. Peter J. Daley (D-California).

According to the arrest warrant, Brownsville Police Officer Autumn Fike and Redstone Township Police Capt. H. Dennis Field Jr. saw Mosley at Dunlap Creek Lodge in the borough of Brownsville on Nov. 24. At that time, a warrant was out for his arrest on unrelated charges.

When Fike, Field and former Redstone Township Police Sgt. Joseph Venick tried to stop Mosley, he allegedly fled.

The three pursued Mosley throughout the borough, and twice during the pursuit, Fike alleged Mosley tried to hit her car with the one he was driving. Fike allegedly followed Mosley onto Water Street, where he got out of the car and fled on foot.

Police were unable to catch him that night.

Donald McFadden, who owned the car Mosley was driving, reportedly told police he had loaned the vehicle to Mosley.

Mosley was initially charged with aggravated assault, but that charge was dismissed at his preliminary hearing. The remaining charges were waived to court.
