Tylar Lyn Andaloro

Tylar Lyn Andaloro, 18, of Hopwood, Pa., the beloved daughter of Steve E. and Lynette F. (Matthews) Andaloro, and Laurel Highlands Senior Class of 2002 Valedictorian, died on Sunday, April 28, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born on November 17, 1983, in Uniontown, Pa.

Tylar was a loving daughter, sister, and granddaughter who made her family very proud her accomplishments!

She was an Honor student at Laurel Highlands High School, 2002 Class Valedictorian, in the Gifted Program, and had been accepted into the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

She was a member of the National Honor Society, Junior Engineering and Technical Team for the Chemistry Club Olympics, Students Against Drunk Driving, Rotary Interact Club, Spanish Club, Math Club, Ecology Club, and Homecoming Committee, and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

On the athletic field, Tylar made an impact in track and field events as a discus and shot put thrower. Tylar placed second three years in a row in the Fayette County Track and Field Competition. She held the Freshman record in discus. She was a member of the school’s Annual Powder Puff Football game and was a first base player for the Sun Laurel Softball League.

Tylar had served as coach for the Kennedy Elementary School Basketball Team.

In her spare time she was a tour guide at the mansion at Mount Macrina.

She had been named Student of the Month by the Uniontown Rotary Club in September 2001.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters: Heather L. Andaloro and Katey M. Andaloro both at home; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Andaloro, and maternal grandparents, Playford and Antoinette Matthews, all of Uniontown, Pa.; uncles and aunts: John Andaloro and his wife, Jane, of West Chester, Pa., Diane Bagay and Peter Sandstom of Monroeville, Pa., Laura Roman and her husband, Bernie, Thomas Matthews and his wife, Charlotte, Rebecca Reed, and Annette Fabrey all of Uniontown, Pa., and Suzette Foster and her husband, Mark, of Smithfield, Pa.; cousins: Doug Matthews and his wife, Kim, Michael Fugozzotto and his wife, Beth, Jason Fabrey, Jeremy Fabrey, Mark Foster, David Matthews, Sara Foster, Sadie Foster, Meghan Andaloro, and Brad Andaloro; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Joseph Andaloro.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., a Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, May 1, until 10:30 a.m.

Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 70 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, with Rev. Paul Frank officiating.

Interment will be private.

Visitation was also held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
