Joseph Petruska
Joseph Petruska, age 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, August 2, 2002, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born March 25, 1913, in Lambert, Fayette County, Pa., son of Michael Petruska and Anna Varhol Petruska.
He worked in the Dairy Industry for 46 years starting at the age of 16 for Sanitary Dairy, then for Hagan’s Dairy as an Assistant Manager, and Country Bell Dairy as an Assistant Manager before retirement.
Then he worked as a Driver for Jendral’s Pharmacy for 20 years.
“Joe” was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder, Deacon, Usher, and was on the dartball team.
He also was a member of Teamsters Local 491 and the Hagan Bowling League.
A brother, Michael Petruska, a sister, Mary Petruska, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Petruska, and parents preceded Joseph in death.
“Joe” is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Frankenberry Petruska; a son, Joseph E. “Gene” Petruska, and a daughter, Shirley Savage and her husband, Raymond, all of Uniontown, Pa.; five grandchildren: Terri Kolencik, Laurie Savage, David Petruska, Robert Petruska, Brian Petruska; seven great grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers: Ann Petruska of Uniontown, Sister M. Celestine Petruska of Phoenix, Arizona, Dorothy Medvitz, John, Stephen, and William all of Uniontown.
Arrangements are entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held Monday, August 5, at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, Pa., with Dr. Robert W. Cahn officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
