Homer W. Paris
Homer W. Paris, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, age 90, of Filbert-Orient Road, Fairbank, Pa., passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2002, in UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born October 15, 1911, in Rowes Run, Pa., a son of Homer Paris and Elizabeth O’Connor Paris.
Homer was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Republic, and formerly served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Mount Vernon, Virginia.
He was a retired Assistant Mine Foreman from Isabella Mine, a former Boy Scout Official at Republic Christian Church, and former member of the Republic Lions Club and the Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary Church.
He was an officer and active member of the California Swim Club and the California Senior Citizens Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Jennifer A. Sigwalt and Brian Edward Sigwalt, sisters, Catherine Spangler and Helen Michaels, and brothers, John, Francis and Charles.
Surviving are his wife, Andrianna Eskra Paris; children: Raymond W. Paris Sr. of Filbert-Orient Road, Marlene Sigwalt of Louisville, Kentucky, and Marcella Ermlick and her husband, Scott F. Ermlick, of Youngwood, Pa.; grandchildren: Raymond W. Paris Jr. and Angela Paris both of Filbert-Orient Road, Christine Paris Figgs of Ocean City, Maryland, Sean Sigwalt of Sharpsville, Pa., FN Mark Sigwalt, United States Navy, of Great Lakes, Illinois, Eric Sigwalt of Louisville, Kentucky, Adrienne Ermlick and Jonathan Ermlick both of Youngwood, Pa.; great-grandchildren: Raymond D. Paris, Logan Figgs, Lily Figgs, Brehanna Sigwalt, Braeden Sigwalt; a sister, Margaret Franks of Uniontown, Pa.; and a brother, Andrew Eugene Paris of Cooper City, Florida.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, August 10, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Republic, with Rev. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 8 p.m.
