FRANKLIN GRANGE 1169 will hold a covered-dish picnic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the grange hall. Meat, rolls and beverages will be furnished. The regular meeting will follow the picnic. ANNUAL NIEMAN REUNION will be held Sunday at Wharton Township Park, off Route 40, Farmington. Lunch will be served promptly at 12:30 p.m. Families are to bring a picnic basket.
ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 71 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. It is sponsored by the AAL Branch 9306 and St. Paul’s Women of the ELCA to benefit Glade Run Lutheran Services. Donation is $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children underage 10. Tickets will be sold at the door. Take-out orders will be available.
ST. ANTHONY FRATRNITY OF SECULAR FRANCISCANS will hold their annual picnic at 2 p.m. Sunday at 115 Oakland Ave., Uniontown in the form of a covered dish. Family and friends were welcome to attend. The SFO meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 3.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES GREENE COUNTY will host an Evening on Broadway, a benefit concert featuring local vocalists and musicians performing favorite Broadway tunes, at 7 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of College and Richhill streets, Waynesburg. A Chinese auction and dessert social will also be featured. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds benefit needy people of Greene County. ZOLLARSVILLE CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, located on the Beallsville- Marianna Road, will hold its annual peach festival from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Peach desserts will be available as well as potato salad, baked beans, cabbage and noodles, perogies, turkey salad sandwiches, hot sausage, kolbassi and kraut, ham barbecue and beverages. Public is invited.
A.J. MCMULLEN SCHOOL band camp will be held Monday through Thursday next week from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. All incoming sixth-grade band members and returning band members and majorettes should report. Practice for the A.J. Drill Team will be held at the school on the same dates, but will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. each day.
JOHNSON CHAPEL will hold its annual church picnic and Show family reunion on Saturday beginning at noon at the church grounds along Route 281. Ursina Band will provide entertainment for the evening.
DESCENDANTS OF THE REV. SAMUEL AND ALMA WEST will hold their ninth annual reunion Saturday at Pavilion 8 at Cedar Creek Park, Route 51, just north of Route 70. A covered-dish dinner will be served at noon. Families are to bring their own beverages (no alcohol). Group and family photos will be taken at 2 p.m. Games and white elephant sale will be held. Rev. and Mrs. West were former residents of Sunnyside and Belle Vernon.
