Community calendar – Aug. 16
KIRCHNER REUNION will be held Aug. 25 at Mon View Park, beginning at 1 p.m. Those attending are to bring bingo and auction gifts. MENALLEN TOWNSHIP will hold its annual picnic from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the New Salem Firemen’s Park. All current and former residents are invited. Food, beverages and entertainment for the children, will be provided through donations from civic businesses, citizens and fundraisers.
UNIONTOWN SERVICE LEAGUE, 41 W. Main St., Uniontown, will hold a $2 bag sale of summer merchandise from Monday through Friday next week. All proceeds benefit local charities.
GOLDEN AGE CLUB OF UNIONTOWN will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church. The money for the October trip is due.
SURVIVORS OF INCEST ANONYMOUS, a 12-step recovery program for women and men over 18 who were sexually abused as a child by a trusted person, meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mt. St. Macrina Retreat Center, Uniontown. For more information, call 724-628-4910 or 724-438-0686.
