Emil L. Juracko
Emil L. Juracko, 80, of Bobtown, Pa., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at the Beverly Health Care Center, Uniontown, Pa. He was born in Edenborn, Pa., on Sept. 4, 1921, a son of the late Paul and Mary Lesko Juracko Sr.
He was a coal miner, retired in 1983, from Shannopin Mine, and a member of the UMWA Local 6159, Bobtown. He was a faithful member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, and of the Holy Name Society. Emil was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, Carmichaels Chapter, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Bobtown V.F.W., the Catholic Slovak Union, a lifetime member of the Bobtown Rod and Gun Club, and was Scoutmaster in Bobtown for a number of years. He and his wife were well known in the area for their dancing skill, and for his love of the polka.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary A. Ceck Juracko, whom he married on Oct. 18, 1947; three daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Eileen A.) Garnek of Bobtown, Suzanne E. Juracko of Claysville, Pa., and Nancy M. Juracko of Rogersville; three grandchildren, Andrea Stefanizzi and Adam and Aaron Garnek; and two sisters, Irene Sullins of California, and Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Pesosky of Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Jr., Hubert, Theodore, Samuel and Rudolph Juracko; and by sisters, Theresa Sorke, Anne Yetter and Bertha Falbo.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday until 10:15 a.m., when prayers will be said, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, Bobtown, with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside. Vigil Service will be held on Sunday at 8:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
