LaVerne B. McCrory, R.N.
LaVerne Burry McCrory, R.N., 70, of Allenport, Pa., graduate of Charleroi High School Class of 1941, received Registered Nurse Certification from Allegheny General School of Nursing in 1945, served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force Army Nurses Corps during World War II at a base in Richmond, Virginia, and Seymour Johnson base in North Dakota, and then worked on the Second Surgical floor of the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital, died Tuesday, August 16, 2002, in Justine’s Personal Care Home, Allenport, Pa. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Carl McCrory; children: Chris Lee McCrory and his wife, Joanne, of Bayport, New York, Judy McCrory Paich and her husband, Richard Paich, of Aliquippa, Pa., Jon David McCrory and his wife, Lucretia, of Roscoe, Pa., and Jeannie Lu of Allenport; grandchildren: Jeremiah Richard Paich and Christy McCrory Paich both of Aliquippa and Laurel Saxon McCrory of Roscoe; sisters: Minetta Burry Farquahar of Allenport, Marie Burry Regula of Charleroi, Pa., and Ruth Burry Chester of Roscoe; sisters-in-law: June Dunlap of Fayette City, Pa., and Katherine Mooers of Belle Vernon, Pa.; numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
The Family will receive Friends in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes Inc., Roscoe, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 19, until 11 a.m.
