Irving B. Minnick
Irving B. Minnick, 66, of West Leisenring, Pa., died peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2002, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. He was born on June 8, 1936, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Steve A. Minnick and Catherine Oberly Minnick who preceded him in death.
Irving was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church, Leisenring, Pa., and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47, Uniontown, Pa.
He proudly served his country for 20 years with the United States Navy, retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1972, and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Following his retirement from the United States Navy he was employed with the Uniontown Hospital Maintenance Department for 20 years.
A special uncle to his many nieces and nephews and a wonderful brother, Irving brought Joy to many lives he touched with his warm spirit, generosity, and thoughtfulness.
He was the dear brother of Steve A. Minnick and wife, Gladys, of Fairchance, Pa., Barbara Parkinson of Elyria, Ohio, and John Minnick of New York City, New York; and beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 20, until 8:45 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church, Leisenring, Pa., with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., where Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47 will accord Military Honors.
