FLATIRON BUILDING HERITAGE CENTER, 69 Market St., Brownsville, is holding a used book sale from 10 a.m. t 2 p.m. Monday though Friday during August. All paperbacks are $1 for a brown bag full. Some hardbacks are $1 each. ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY of St. Aloysius Church, Ranch Road, Dunbar, is selling the new Entertainment 2003 Book for $20 each, plus shipping and handling of $3. PLEASANT VIEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Royal Road, Smock, will hold its fifth annual personal goods and services auction Sunday following the 11 a.m. worship. The auction will be held in the Pavilion, weather permitting. A light luncheon will be provided, free of charge, prior to the bidding. Auction items have include a one-half butchered pig, weekend at Seven Springs, musical lessons, window washing, state vehicle inspections, State Theater tickets, football tickets to Penn State and Pitt games; hand tools, babysitting, fudge, restaurant gift certificates, wooden toys, Penguin Hockey tickets, Jackson Farms ice cream, and many others. Proceeds benefit the Pleasant View Mission Fund and Presbyterian Hunger Fund.

VICTIMS IN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS may join a Women’s Support Group, guided by Domestic Violence Services of Fayette County. Meetings are held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday. Call 724-437-2530 for location. It is open to all women who have been battered.
