Agnes M. Mesaros
Agnes M. Mesaros, 79, of Grindstone, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at the Cherry Tree Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes Golden Seginack.
Agnes was born in Masontown, Pa., and attended All Saints Catholic School. While in school, she participated in the theater, spoke fluent Slovak, and graduated valedictorian of her class in 1941.
During World War II, Agnes worked in an aircraft assembly plant in Cleveland, Ohio. After Andrew’s tour of duty ended in 1944, Agnes and Andrew were married in Riverside, Calif.
After retirement from the Holiday Inn of Uniontown, Pa., Agnes was active at the Center in the Woods in California. Agnes and Andrew were lifetime members of St. Cecelia Church of Grindstone, Pa.
Agnes is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Andrew Mesaros Sr.; a daughter, Lois Mesaros Grishkin; and a sister, Sophia Clifton.
Surviving are two children, Andrew and his wife, Barbara Mesaros of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Elaine Marie and her husband, Rand Schenck of Saline, Mich; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Justin Grishkin, Andrew, Thomas and Julie Schenck, Tara Dolansky and Alexander Mesaros; and a sister, Frances Hessler of Cleveland, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m., in St. Cecelia’s R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. John Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will be held in LaFayette Memorial Park. A Vigil Service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. Catholic Daughters of America Court 1141 of Brownsville, will hold services today at 3:15 p.m. The Rosary Confraternity will recite the Partner Parish Rosary today at 7: 30 p.m.
