Pedestrian struck
State police in Belle Vernon said Collin Manack, 17, of Arch Street, Star Junction, suffered ankle and shoulder injuries Monday at 5:30 a.m. when he walked onto Route 51 and was struck by a vehicle in traffic.
Police said he walked onto the highway from Main Street and was hit by Bernard Conner III of Uniontown. Manack was transported by Perryopolis Ambulance to Mon Valley Hospital for treatment. Perry Township firefighters also assisted at the scene. Police said no charges were filed against Conner.

Arson investigated
State police in Washington said a liquid accelerant and matches were used to set a fire that caused minor damages to Nettie Elizabeth Hill’s one-story wooden barn along Robena Road in Monongahela Township, Greene County, at 7:20 a.m. Sunday. Police are investigating the arson and ask anyone with information about the incident to call the station at 724-223-5200, noting that all calls will be kept confidential.

DUI charged
John E. Kollar II, 41, of Smock was charged with driving under the influence for allegedly hitting a vehicle parked in the Eat ‘N Park Restaurant lot Aug. 11 at 2:25 a.m. and pushing it into another vehicle, state police in Uniontown said. No injuries were reported. Charges were filed in District Justice Rick Vernon’s office.

Man charged
Jeremy Paul Savage of 1604 Breakneck Road, Connellsville, was charged with receiving stolen property and false reports in connection with a Tuesday night incident, state police in Uniontown said. He allegedly took a vehicle owned by Diane B. Karaffa of Dunbar from the Bud Murphy’s Sports Bar lot 11 p.m. and gave police fictitious information after he was involved in an accident with the vehicle on Englishman Hill Road.

Ricky Robert Grapes, 22, of 2009 W. Crawford Ave., Connellsville, was arrested for possession of marijuana following a 12:50 a.m. Wednesday traffic stop on Gallatin Avenue, city police said. He was arraigned by District Justice Mark Blair and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $5,000 percentage bond.

State police in Uniontown said several boxes of fireworks were taken from Keystone Fireworks, High Street Extension, between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Two charged
Charges were filed against Robert David Seighman, 33, of New Salem and Rachel Lynn Seighman, 28, of Massillon, Ohio, following a 2:35 a.m. Monday incident at Mr. Seighman’s Royal Road home, state police in Uniontown said. He allegedly assaulted her after she trespassed on his property and damaged a screen window. Charges were filed at District Justice Michael Defino Jr.’s office.

Joseph Friend Jr. of New Geneva was cited by state police in Uniontown for a stop-sign violation following a 5:30 p.m. Tuesday accident on Route 51, in which Ralph L. Lynn of Perryopolis was injured. Police said Friend pulled out from Bitner Road into the path of Lynn, who was traveling north on Route 51. Lynn was taken to Uniontown Hospital for evaluation.

State police in Belle Vernon said tools valued at $2,500 owned by Samuel Waters of East Millsboro were taken from his garage Sunday or Monday.

State police in Belle Vernon said a severely damaged 1984 Ford F-250 truck was found Monday over an embankment along a state road and was towed to a repair shop in Fairchance. Police said the driver is not known.

State police in Uniontown said a headlight and side mirror on a car owned by Thomas Rob Jr. of Foxburg, Pa., were damaged Aug. 13 or 14 when it was parked along Hawkins Hollow Road.

Pamela Brooks, 33, no known address, was cited for public drunkenness following an argument with another woman on North Gallatin Avenue outside of Johnny D’s bar Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., city police said. City police said Lawrence Fowler of 10 Shady Lane reported Tuesday morning that his wallet, checkbook and ATM card were stolen from his residence while he was asleep inside. Police also said personal cards and papers belonging to Fowler were found on Clarendon Avenue.

Joseph and Janen Pennington of Dilliner told state police they were driving on Route 88 when someone driving a 1988 Mercury pulled out of the Riviera Mobile Home Park and struck their vehicle at 11:55 p.m. Friday. Police said the driver fled the scene on foot.

State police said Ricky Lee Finn, 21, of Carmichaels was charged with simple assault and lodged in the Greene County Jail on $7,500 bond after he allegedly punched Hillary Dawn Sine, 19, of Carmichaels in the face at 6 a.m. Thursday. Sine was treated at Greene County Memorial Hospital, police said.

State police said Patricia Diane Fletcher, 52, of Akron, Ohio, was charged with public drunkenness and issued a traffic citation for not having a valid operators license after officers found her passed out in her vehicle along Steel Hill Road at 11:40 p.m. Saturday.

South Union Township firefighters and American Ambulance personnel responded at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to a fire report at Laurel Highlands Junior High School. School district Superintendent Dr. Ronald Sheba said insulation caught fire where welders were working on the roof. He said there was no damage and the incident was contained to an isolated area. Fire and ambulance personnel cleared the scene at 5:55 p.m.
