Harold W. Mitchell
Harold W. Mitchell, age 80, of Vanderbilt, Pa., passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2002, in the Uniontown Hospital. Harold was a life member of Central Christian Church and also a life member of V.F.W. Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa., a member of Fayette Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M., Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Fayco Forest No. 152, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 5, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He served in the 70th Infantry Division of the European Theatre of Operations during World War II where he was wounded and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Russell Mitchell and Flora Mae Spaw Mitchell, first wife, Beverly J. Mitchell, one grandson, Brandon Buncic, and two brothers, Arthur Mitchell and Herbert Mitchell.
He is survived by his second wife, Patricia Hurley Hutcheson Mitchell; one son, H. William Mitchell Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; two daughters: Darlene and her husband, Abraham Sullivan, of Uniontown, Pa., and Bobetta Fields of Smithfield, Pa.; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Miller of Uniontown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where Friends will be received today, August 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation will continue in Central Christina Church, South Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, on Saturday, August 24, from Noon until 2 p.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Arthur Mace officiating.
Full Military Honors will be accorded at the Church by Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47.
Private interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
