Mary Skinner Miner

Mary Leola Skinner Miner, 89, of Mill Run, Pa., died Wednesday, August 21, 2002, at her home. She was born September 14, 1912, in Bear Run, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of George Skinner and Bess Tissue Skinner.

Mrs. Miner was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the American Baptist Women’s Ministry, served as a former Pianist, and was a past Sunday School Teacher and Cradle Roll Superintendent. She had a passion for the missions and missionary works of the church.

Her husband, Ralph Miner, died in 1983. Also deceased are one daughter, Marlene Miner Hiltabidel, two granddaughters, Roberta Miner and Mary Marlene Miner, three brothers, Harold, Carl and Dwight Skinner, and her parents.

She is survived by three children: Ralph David Miner and his wife, Jean, of Bowie, Maryland, Donna Miner of Mill Run, Pa., and Kerwin Miner and his wife, Denise, of Mill Run; six grandchildren: Deborah Hoppe and her husband, John, and their daughters, Rachel and Sarah, of Bowie, Maryland, David Miner and his wife, Linda, and their children, Kirstyn and Joshua, of Bowie, Maryland, Patricia Holmes and her husband, Kevin, and their sons, Robert, Jacob and Benjamin, of Bowie, Maryland, Clifford Hiltabidel and his wife, Amy, and their children, Lindsay, Jared and Taylor, of Mill Run, Pa., Tina Hiltabidel and her children, Michael and Misty, of Addison, Pa., and Nicholas Miner of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and his son, Colby, of Mount Pleasant, Pa.; and one sister, Esther Wolfe and her husband, Robert, of Pompano Beach, Florida.

Family and Friends will be received in Indian Creek Baptist Church, Mill Run, Pa., on Sunday, August 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. Services will begin at 3 p.m. in the Church with Rev. John Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Mission Committee of Indian Creek Baptist Church in memory of Mary Leola Skinner Miner.
