Gerald A. Borris
Gerald “Jerry” A. Borris, 38, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 22, 2002, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. He was born July 17, 1964, in Connellsville, Pa., son of Mary Catherine “Cathy” Morrison Borris of Connellsville and the late Michael J. “Hank” Borris Jr.
“Jerry” was a former employee of Kossman Development Corporation where he worked as a Laborer.
He enjoyed life to the fullest! “Jerry” enjoyed all sports, especially car racing and became a Dale Earnhardt fan.
He was a former Little League Baseball Coach for the South Side Lions for eight years.
“Jerry” was a member of the Merchants Ten Pin Bowling League at City Lanes and also Arch Caf?’s Softball League.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who appreciated the outdoors, and a social member of The Slovak Club in Connellsville.
He was preceded in death by his father on November 7, 2001, his paternal grandparents, Michael J. Borris Sr. and Nina LeGrande Borris, and maternal grandparents, John Morrison and Ruth Kerr Morrison.
In addition to his mother, “Jerry” is survived by a son, Brett John “B. J.” Borris, a sister, Michelle “Sheli” Garrity and her husband, Shaun, a brother, Michael J. Borris III, and a special nephew, Tre Garrity, all of Connellsville; special girlfriend and longtime companion, Robbie Welsh of Connellsville and her daughter, Noelle Welsh; his devoted dog, Daytona, whom he loved so dearly; and several aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First Street, West Side, Connellsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 26, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Dr. Marvin C. Watson officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
