LaVera Hughes Ansell
LaVera O. Hughes Ansell, age 85 years, of Fairchance, Pa., went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 24, 2002. She was born November 16, 1916, in Fairchance, Pa., daughter of James C. Hughes and Elsie Kuhns Hughes.
LaVera was a lifelong member of Fairchance Free Methodist Church where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher of the Young Adult Class and former Cradle Roll Superintendent.
Her husband, Guy H. Ansell, died October 20, 2000. Also deceased are a son, William G. Ansell, grandson, Terry Wayne Ansell, two brothers, Raymond E. Hughes and Glenn D. Hughes, two sisters, Leona Bortner and Esther Campbell, and her parents.
Surviving are two children: Kathryn Eileen Sutton, Fairchance, and LaDonna Rae and her husband, Harry Swaney, Fairchance; daughter-in-law, Diane Ansell Neiblick, Fort White, Florida; nine grandchildren: Michael Galen Ansell, Vera Sue Pearson, Robin Diane Ansell, Randy William Sutton, Richard Dale Sutton and Betty, Ryan Galen Sutton and Sheila, Rhonda Eileen Sluiter and husband Marcel, Robert Guy Stoneking and wife Lori, and Dr. Kelly Dawn Hostetler and husband Bill; three great grandchildren: Delanie Paige Hostetler, Alec Boyd Hostetler and Lauren Amelia Stoneking; two sisters: June Britton, Mobile, Alabama, and Lois Jane Link, Lutz, Florida; and a very dear friend as close as a daughter, Sharon Davison, Fairchance.
The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held in Fairchance Free Methodist Church, South Morgantown Street, Fairchance, on Wednesday, August 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
