Building struck
City police said a car crashed into a building at 230 W. Berkeley St. at 1:25 a.m. Saturday. Both front doors and a rear door on the car were open when officers arrived, but none of the car’s occupants was there. A railing on the building was damaged.

Theft reported
City police said John Provance of Easy Street reported Sunday morning that a Craftsman circular saw, a DeWalt drill, three bicycles and a 90cc Yamaha motorcycle were stolen from his garage.

Vehicles damaged
City police said Jason Stone reported Sunday morning that both front tires on his car were slashed and some sort of fluid was poured on his vehicle while it was parked at 20 Maurice St. Three tires were cut and fluid was poured on the body of another vehicle parked nearby, police said.

One-vehicle accident
City police said Mary Jordan, 41, of Smock struck a utility pole Saturday at 2:20 a.m. at 55 S. Mount Vernon Ave.

Man arrested
State police in Uniontown arrested a Uniontown man for allegedly raping a 42-year-old woman in a hotel in February after slipping her a drug that made her incapable of resistance.
Michael J. Greathouse, 37, of 319 Virginia Circle was charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. He was arraigned by District Justice Wendy Dennis and released after posting bond.
According to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed by trooper David Bell, the incident occurred in the Holiday Inn on Route 40. The woman met Greathouse in the hotel bar at approximately 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1 and they drank drinks over the next four to five hours.
After the woman became ill, the suspect told her that he got a room for her and helped her there because she could not walk on her own.
She became ill again and told him to leave, but he stayed, undressed her and raped her, police said.
Police said the drug was administered without the woman’s knowledge.

Golf carts found
State police said that three Clubcart golf carts reported as stolen from the Uniontown Country Club on Aug. 17 were recovered near Township Drive on Aug. 18. County club members had observed the carts being driven down the road and called police.

Mailbox damaged
Benny Fells Jr., 64, of Point Marion told state police that between 7:15 and 7:35 a.m. Aug. 20 his mailbox along Fallen Timbers Road was destroyed.

Window broken
Scott Chapman, 40, of Smithfield told state police that the rear window of his 1994 Plymouth van was broken on Aug. 20. Police said that a marble may have been used on the window.

Property damaged
State police said that two Smithfield residents along Main and Highhouse streets had property damaged between Aug. 19 and 20. Cheryl A. Brumley, 37, reported the rear window of a van and pool liner damaged at a loss of $1,260 and Jerry High, 43, reported that $600 in house siding was damaged.

Vehicle fire
State police said no injuries were reported when a 1978 Chevrolet pickup operated by Joanne Kulenovic caught fire for an unknown reason while traveling on Hoover Works Road, McClellandtown, on Aug. 14. The vehicle was completely destroyed.

Accident
State police said no injuries were reported when Lori M. Shipley, 28, of Mill Run missed a curve in Route 381 and struck three mailboxes and a cement driveway marker belonging to Mollie A. Kooser of Mill Run before coming to a rest in the roadway at 6:09 a.m. Wednesday.

Robert Snyder of Connellsville told state police that his demolition derby car was taken from the Bullskin Township Fairgrounds between Aug. 15 and 16.

Accident
State police didn’t note any injuries when vehicles operated by Brenda Sue Moser of Smithfield and Dennis A. Milliman of Connellsville collided on Chess Road at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Investigation continues
State police are investigating an incident in which a 1994 Pontiac sedan was taken from the residence of David M. Bigam, 30, of Connellsville on Saturday then was crashed a short time later into an embankment on Quail Hill.

Stolen truck found
Rosso Roofing Inc., of Uniontown told state police that a white 1995 Dodge Dakota was taken from their lot on Railroad Street after driving the truck through the front gate on Aug. 5. Brownsville Police found the truck at 5 a.m. Monday.

Marbles shot
State police said that marbles were shot at three different Georges Township properties between 6 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Terry’s Lawn Mower repair had the glass broken out of a door, while Roxanne L. McCort and Doug S. Harned both had windows in their homes broken.

Windshield broken
Tina N. Hlatcky of Smithfield told state police that the windshield on her 2000 Ford Explorer was broken between 6 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday while it was parked along Black Hill Road.

Operator fled
State police said that an unknown driver fled on foot after driving a Chevrolet Lumina into guardrail on Route 982 at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dog struck
State police said that a small, tan-colored dog was struck by an unknown vehicle by Nelson Steel at 9 p.m. Sunday. The dog was taken to Duck Hollow Animal Hospital. The owner should contact Dr. Donald Tummons at 724-437-9900.

Window broken
David Patterson of Smithfield told state police that between 11:50 p.m. and midnight Saturday the rear passenger window on his 1999 Ford F250 was broken while in the parking lot of the Georges Township Municipal Building.

Dirt bike taken
Donald Crossland of Lemont Furnace told state police that a 1996 Yamaha dirt bike was taken from his Church Lane home on Aug. 15.
