William J. Nichols Sr.
William J. Nichols Sr., 95, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Monday, August 26, 2002 in North Charleston, South Carolina. He was born February 17, 1907 in Whitsett, Pa., son of Frank Orville Nichols and Minnie Gaster Nichols.
He was a retired Mine Foreman from Nemacolin Mine.
He was a Charter Member of the Fairdale Free Methodist Church of Carmichaels, Pa.
His first wife, Elizabeth A. Nichols, died November 16, 1986. His second wife, Frances I. Nichols, died June 8, 2002. Also deceased are two brothers, Harry Nichols and Francis Nichols, a sister Lois Smith and his parents.
He is survived by these children, William J. Nichols Jr. and wife Muriel of N. Charleston, South Carolina, Robert Nichols of McLean, Virginia, Gloria Polander of Summerville, South Carolina; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister Anne Falk of Summerville, South Carolina.
Friends will be received in the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues in Fairdale Free Methodist Church, Carmichaels on Friday, August 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lloyd Sickles and Rev. David Little officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
