Edward F. Kindervater, 66, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Monday, August 26, 2002 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He was born March 6, 1936 in Herbert, Pa., son of the late Edward and Margaret Ford Kindervater.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Deborah Turk and nephew Ricky Turk.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years Patty Beatty Kindervater; four children Peggy McAtee and husband Dave of Vincent, Ohio, Edward Kindervater and wife Linda Jane, Lori Martin and husband Dave and Lisa Kindervater, all of Hopwood, Pa.; three grandchildren Rachel McAtee, Mark McShane, Jr. and Kyra Kindervater; one sister Connie Craft and husband Ed of Alexandria, Va., and several – ieces and nephews.

Mr. Kindervater was retired as a Regional Vice President after 34 years with Pic-Way Shoes and was working with his son at Ruse’s Roost BBQ Barn.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Republic and served as Treasurer and also served as Secretary of Tri-County Christian Men and President of the Christian Mens Fellowship in his church.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, 1189 National Pike, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 11 a.m., when services will be held, with the Rev. Rebecca Hickok officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.
