Specter to visit Open houses set

A series of open houses are scheduled Wednesday and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. for a program that will provide free computer courses and free child care to Greene County residents.

“Your Starting Point” will provide free child care to parents who are attending free courses paid for through the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant or are attending paid courses at other educational institutions.

The childcare centers are located at Carmichaels Area Elementary Center, Jefferson Morgan Middle-High School and Waynesburg Central High School. Centers will be open from Monday through Thursday evenings from the end of school until 9 p.m., beginning Sept. 9.

Open houses will be held this week at each of the three sites to give people a chance to meet and talk with staff before deciding to sign on to the program. For more information, contact Linda McCracken or Bert Menhart at 724-627-7173.
