Francis L. Knight
Francis L. Knight, 72, of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at his home. He was born May 10, 1930, in Crescent Heights, Pa., son of the late John Lee and Josephine Beal Knight.
He was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., an avid gardener, and was an indispensable presence at his daughter’s business, The Pizza Wagon.
Francis was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.
He was retired from U.S. Steel, as a maintenance engineer, with 37 years.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Lucas Knight, whom he married on Nov. 22, 1951; daughters, Nancy and her husband, Gary Ritz of Brownsville, Pa., and Karyn and her husband, Jimmy Ross of Brownsville, Pa.; a son, Ralph and his wife, Patty Knight of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jaime and Tricia Ritz and Alicia and Michael Knight; a brother and sisters, Phillip and wife, Rita Knight of Manassas, Va., Helen and husband, Richard Fox of Bridgeton, N.J., Judy and husband, Jerry Fudala of Smock, Pa., Sharon and husband, Joe Elinich of Glenshaw, and Eunice and husband, Terry Currie of Deltona, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Noel and Paul.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 1 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will be private. St. Peter’s Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary today at 3 p.m.
