George L. Boyer Sr.
George L. Boyer Sr., 70, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at his home. He was born April 8, 1932, in Shamrock, Pa., son of the late Charles F. and Florence V. Knox Boyer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Boyer; and two brothers and a sister, William Boyer, Charles Edward Boyer and Virginia Silbaugh.
Surviving are his wife, Lelia Armel Boyer and these children, George L. Boyer Jr., of Vandergrift, Charles F. Boyer of Uniontown, Bonita Boyer of Connellsville, Alan Boyer of Uniontown, Audrey Williams of Lemont Furnace, April Boyer of Uniontown, Aubrey Boyer of Connellsville, William Zinn of Fairchance, Deborah Zinn and Miles Norman Zinn, both of Uniontown, Adam Boyer of Latrobe, and Brian Boyer of Ninevatt; 36 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters and three brothers, Florence Edwards of Uniontown, Orpha Fike of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Ida Mae Fike of Brandonville, W.Va., David Boyer of Hagerstown, Md., Samuel Burnworth of Tampa, Fla., Emma Jane Arnold of Smithfield, and Shirley Almom of Fairchance.
Mr. Boyer was a member of United Christian Temple of Uniontown, he was the owner of Boyer Construction, and a veteran of the Korean War.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, today from from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 1 p.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. Galen Weinbrenner officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Brandonville, W.Va. AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, will accord military services at graveside.
