Garnet Phillips
Garnet Phillips, 91, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Sunday, December 1, 2002 at her home. She was born October 31, 1911 in Pt. Marion, Pa., daughter of the late John and Estella Stevenson Hare.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband James Phillips and a sister Opal Hackett.
Garnet was a graduate of Pt. Marion High School Class of 1929 and the Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1932. She was retired from Uniontown Hospital with 25 years of service as a R.N. She was a member of the B.P.O.Elks 370 Ladies Auxiliary and North Union V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her brother John Hare of Morgantown, West Virginia; a step daughter Mary Alice Carlock of Tilghman, Md.; three step grandchildren James, Donald and Jack Burt.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Rev. Madison Stringfellow officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. View Memorial Cemetery.
