Gilbert G. “Wimpy” Lyons, 84, of Beaver, Pa., died Monday, December 2, 2002 in the Medical Center Beaver. He was born August 8, 1918 in Coal Center, Pa., the son of the late Grant and Lula McDonough Lyons. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 19, New Brighton. Gilbert was a member of the First Congregational Church of Beaver Falls and had retired from the Westinghouse Electric Company, Vanport, Pa. with 35 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Leonard, Charles, Henry, Howard and Raymond Lyons and two sisters Sarah Austin and Margaret Stimmel.

Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law Grant and Ethel Lyons of Beaver Falls and Allan Lyons of Brownsville.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Ralph Y. Scott officiating.

Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
