Theft reported
City police said an employee at the Atlantic Refining station at 55 Connellsville St. reported that six juveniles became upset and stole a carton of candy bars after the worker refused to sell them tobacco products at 1:20 a.m. Monday.

City police said someone broke the front door window on Hostetler’s Jewelers at the intersection of West Main and Morgantown streets at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the store was not entered.

Man cited
Charles A. Cole Jr., 33, of 307 Center Ave., Hopwood, was cited for public drunkenness at 2 a.m. Tuesday following an incident in a parking lot along West Main Street, city police said.

Richard Quinter Panos, 39, of New Salem was cited for public drunkenness after allegedly causing a disturbance in the Oasis Restaurant and Lounge on East Main Street at 7:30 p.m. Monday, city police said.

Hit-and-run
State police said an unknown driver sideswiped a vehicle driven by Marvin Roscoe Mayle of Hopwood in the McDonald’s parking lot as the driver was attempting to pull onto Route 40 Sunday at 7:40 p.m. The driver was last seen heading southbound on Route 119 and had a West Virginia registration number of 3DC897, police said.

State police said someone damaged a mailbox along Duck Pond Road owned by Robin L. Wolfe, 37, of Connellsville Tuesday at 12:10 p.m.

David Edward Sohyda of Uniontown said someone broke a window in his vehicle outside his Braddock Avenue home Sunday at 11 p.m.

Rafail Waddin of Smithfield told state police someone took a chain saw from his storage shed sometime between 12 p.m. Nov. 1 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

Charles Moore of 107 Grant St. told city police that between 2:32 p.m. and 3:03 p.m. Wednesday his Briggs and Stratton push lawnmower was stolen from under a tarp in his back yard.

City police said that between 2:44 p.m. and 2:48 p.m. Wednesday, someone fired a BB gun and damaged the windshield on Paul Karwatski’s 1994 Plymouth Caravan.

According to city police, a black plastic, double zipper purse containing identification cards, credit cards and cash owned by Helen H. Gabrin was reported missing at Uniontown Shopping Center on Wednesday.

Richard Errera of 457 Union St. told city police that someone stole his vacuum cleaner from his car, parked in his driveway. No damage was reported to the vehicle.

City police said Twila Conway of 16 Wilson Ave. reported that her home was entered and about 25 videotapes and $25 in coins were taken between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Someone broke into Steven Mitchell’s 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sedan, stole a CD player and broke the steering column between 12:51 p.m. and 3:59 p.m. Wednesday, city police said.

Ronald Chad Garner, 29, of 16A Enamel St. was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after being pulled over for allegedly driving his vehicle on a sidewalk in Uniontown at 3:41 a.m. Wednesday, city police said.
