Holiday drive gains more donations
Local residents donated another $860 to the 2002 Give-A-Christmas campaign Tuesday, raising the total to $2,692. “That’s fabulous,’ said Sparkle, the Christmas star. “We’re doing well in this second week of the campaign. But remember we have a long way to go to reach our goal of $40,000. So let’s all pitch in together to raise money for the Salvation Army.’
Tuesday’s donors included the Walnut Hill United Methodist Women who contributed $140 and the Rebekah Circle of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Uniontown who sent in $100.
There were three other $100 donations.
“Thank you so much,’ said Sparkle.
Contributions came from residents of Uniontown, Perryopolis, McClellandtown, Star Junction, Dunbar, Masontown, Grindstone and Connellsville.
“We’re very pleased to accept your donations,’ said Sparkle. “Thank you so much for thinking of others.’
Sparkle also received some nice notes:
