Alvera R. Adamson
Alvera R. Adamson, 82, of Fredericktown (Deemston Boro), Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Large, Pa., a daughter of William V. and Ethel M. Haughton Roesch.
Mrs. Adamson was a graduate of the East Bethlehem High School and California State Teacher’s College, now called California University of Pennsylvania.
She retired in 1982, from the Beth-Center School District, where she was an elementary school teacher. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, is a life member of the Washington County Association of School Retirees, and is a member of California State College Alumni Association.
Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Deemston, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are two granddaughters, Marden Lee Adamson of Burgettstown, Pa., and Karyn Ann Adamson of Burgettstown, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Robbie; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Adamson; a niece, Marcia Colvin; and a nephew, David Roesch.
Deceased are her husband, Daniel Adamson, who died May 4, 1982, and one son, Hugh Adamson, who died September 18, 1979. Also deceased are one brother, William Roesch and one nephew, Roesch..
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank St., at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 396 Ridgewood Dr., Deemston Boro, Fredericktown, Pa., with the Rev. Gary Gregg officiating. Interment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, Pa.
