Community calendar – Dec. 5
TEAMSTERS LOCAL 491 retirees will meet Monday at 2 p.m. in the Teamster’s Auditorium. The Yablonski Costello and Leckie, P.C. firm will present the Legal Services plan. Final plans for the Christmas luncheon on Dec. 11 will be discussed. Reservations for the luncheon area a must and received by Friday. All teamster retirees are welcome to attend the meetings. AMERICAN LEGION POST 51, Uniontown, will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the post home.
A.J. MCMULLEN MIDDLE SCHOOL will hold a Christmas concert on Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature the A.J. McMullen Junior Raider Band and Chorus under the direction of Gail Carlins. Admission is $1.
GLADYS REBEKAH LODGE will hold a soup sale Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the lodge hall, Main street, Big Brownfield. Vegetable and chicken noodle soup will be available. Rolls will be available for $1.50 a dozen. Soup is $2 a pint and $4 a quart. Patrons may eat in or take out orders.
HOPWOOD GARDEN CLUB will participate in Light-up Night in Hopwood on Saturday. The public is invited to visit their display in front of Four Star Pizza between 3 and 6 p.m. The garden club will hold its annual Christmas party on Tuesday at the Inne at Watson’s Choice. Lunch will be served a noon followed by a gift exchange.
