SILVER THREADS will meet at noon Monday at the McClellandtown Fire Hall. New members are welcome to join. Members are to bring a covered dish and place settings. GREENE COUNTY POMONA GRANGE will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harvey. A $5 gift exchange will be held for those wishing to participate. The Yost family will present the program, based on their participation in the rescue at Quecreek Mine. A covered-dish dinner will follow.

CALIFORNIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Third and Liberty streets, will hold a homemade Christmas cookie sale Saturday in the social room of the church. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. followed by the actual cookie sale at 10 a/. m. Customers will be called in registration order and will receive an empty box for a $9 donation. There is no limit to the number of $9 boxes, which may be purchased. More than 400 dozen different cookies are baked by members and friends of the church.

U. S. STEEL PENSIONER CLUB will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

SMOCK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT LADIES AUXILIARY will hold a grocery bingo at 3 p.m. Sunday at the social hall.

MARY BETH CIRCLE of Asbury Methodist Church will hold a Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the home of Shirley Byers. Secret prayer pals will be revealed.
