More donations arrive for Chive-A-Christmas
The 2002 Give-A-Christmas campaign total now stands at $3,757.57 as local residents contributed another $495. “Oh, we’re so close to breaking the $4,000 mark,’ noted Sparkle, the Christmas star. “But we need a lot more people to pitch in because our goal is to raise $40,000 to help the Salvation Army. And to help people during the holiday season, we need to raise the money now.’
Thursday’s contributors included the West Brownsville American Legion Auxiliary 940 who sent in a $100 donation. Other groups participating included the Martha Champion Class of Great Bethel Baptist Church in Uniontown.
Thursday’s donors came from Stewart Township, Brownsville, West Brownsville, Uniontown, Hopwood, Masontown, Fairchance, Newell and New Salem.
“Thanks to all of you for helping,’ said Sparkle. “It means so much to so many people.’
Sparkle also received some nice notes:
