Mary Ellen (Ross) Smith, 65, of Stone Park, Ill., and formerly of Shoaf, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in her home in Stone Park, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 12, 1937, in Greene County, Pa., daughter of the late Charles Ross and Beatrice Viola Stanley Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the following children, Charles William Smith and Larry Morgan Smith; and a brother, Charles S. Ross.

Mary formerly attended the Fairchance Senior Citizens, and the Shoaf Free Methodist Church.

Surviving are her children, Loretta J. Smith Teets of Stone Park, Ill., Raymond Bradley Smith of Masontown, Pa., and Mary Alice Smith Riedmann of Smithfield, Pa.; stepchildren, Billy Jo Stump of Shoaf, Pa., Tony Stump of Sycamore, Ill., and Loreen Stump of Masontown, Pa. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric, Stacy and Sonya Teets, Dan, Josh Ayres and Matt Riedmann, George and Wanda Wyland, Bradley, Charles, Roxanne and Rayna Smith, Susanne Briggs, Monica and Joey Stump and Kelly and John Jr. Teets; great-grandchildren, Mark, Kaila and Sarah Teets, Aliza Cano and Robert Vraiak and Justin Smith; sisters, Shirley Fields of Hopwood, Pa., and Loretta McCormick of Uniontown, Pa.; and a brother, Walter Ross of Washington, Pa.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, until 1:30 p.m., the hour of service with Rev. Charles O’Brien officiating.

Interment will follow in White Rock Cemetery, Georges Township, Pa.
