Crime warning issued

1 min read

State police say prevention is the best defense against Christmas season crimes. Police said shoppers should check their credit cards clerks rarely require additional identification during the Christmas rush and almost anybody can use a stolen card. Most credit card companies hold the owner responsible for all purchases until the card is reported stolen.

Purchases should be kept out of sight and should never be left unattended on car seats. Thieves can open locked doors and break windows for access. Packages should be kept in the truck or, as a last resort, covered with a blanket on the floor.
