More contributions arrive for Give-A-Christmas
Local residents contributed another $780 to the 2002 Give-A-Christmas campaign, raising the total to $5,077.57. “That’s good, that’s good,’ said Sparkle, the Christmas star. “But remember there are only 13 days left in the campaign and we want to raise $40,000 for the Salvation Army. The deadline is noon on Monday, Dec. 23, so please help us now.’
The most recent donations came from Masontown, McClellandtown, Smithfield, Uniontown, Hopwood, Farmington, Republic, Fayette City, New Salem, Greensboro, Perryopolis, Brownsville and Fayette City. They ranged from $5 to $250.
“We appreciate all your gifts,’ said Sparkle.
The Christmas star also received several notes:
“Dear Sparkle, Enclosed is our yearly gift to Give-A-Christmas. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.’ Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tisot of Fayette City.
“Dear Sparkle, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Love and Prayers,’ Joe and Donna Mehalek of New Salem.
“Hope you meet your goal. Have a good holiday.’ Margaret S. Dugan of Farmington.
“Dear Sparkle, Hope you make your goal. God bless you.’ Anonymous.
“Thanks to all of you for helping others during this holiday season,’ said Sparkle. “We hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday, too.
“And if any readers are thinking about sending in a donation, please do it now,’ Sparkle continued. “Remember there are only 13 days left in the campaign. We need all the help we can get.’
