Man convicted A 54-year-old Uniontown man was convicted Tuesday of possessing marijuana and illegally possessing a firearm by a panel of Fayette County jurors.

James Davis was charged by Uniontown police Detective Phillip W. Jones after he went to a Lincoln Street residence with other law enforcement officials to talk to Sonda Christner on Feb. 9, 2001.

While inside, Jones saw pipes used for smoking drugs and asked for permission to search the home. Christner gave him permission and Jones found 9.3 grams of marijuana in a Loony Tunes bag. He also found a gun. Both items, according to prosecutors, belonged to Davis.

Assistant District Attorney Mark D. Brooks prosecuted the case. Assistant Public Defender Mary Campbell Spegar is representing Davis.

Judge Ralph C. Warman will sentence Davis at a later date.
