Gertrude Evelyn Gaffey Kasman, 76, of Republic, Pa., passed away Wednesday morning, December 11, 2002 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born April 17, 1926 in Marguerite, Westmoreland County, Pa., daughter of Thomas Gaffey and Barbara Bell Gaffey.

Gertrude was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Republic and had been employed for 20 years by The National Cleaning Company in New York.

She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her Family!

Her husband, Louis Kasman, died December 18, 1977 and their son, Dennis Kasman, died December 4, 2001. Also deceased are seven brothers and sisters: Richard Gaffey, Thomas Gaffey Jr., Mary Barnes, Dorothy Hollenback, Joseph Gaffey, Julian Gaffey, Ruth Eadie, and her parents.

Surviving are her loving son, Stephen Kasman and his wife, Teresa, of Wappingers Falls, New York; grandchildren: Corrine and Eric; and sisters: Edith Pavlosky of Staten Island, New York, and Margaret Hixon of Republic, Pa.

She was affectionately known as “Aunt Getz” to her loving nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive Friends in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 14, until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Fr. Stephen A. Bugay officiating.

Interment follows in Salem View Cemetery, New Salem, Pa.
