Andrew Michael Olear
Andrew Michael Olear, 80, loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, of Smock, Pa., passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at his home. He was born August 15, 1922 in Labelle, Pa., the son of Thomas and Mary (Bartos) Olear.
Andrew was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army 13th Armored Division, Company C, 124th Engineers Armored Battalion, Black Cat Division.
He was a Life Member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa., and a member of St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church in Smock.
He was a retired Steel Worker from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant.
A daughter, Valerie Ann Harris, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Ann (Mattis) Olear; two daughters: Barbara M. Piwowar and husband, Theodore, of Williamsport, Pa., and Andrea S. Leonard of Cecil, Pa.; three grandsons: Mitchell Harris of Denver, North Carolina, Jason Piwowar and Brad Piwowar both of Williamsport, Pa.; a sister, Mary Senker and husband, Mike, of Smock, Pa.; a brother, John Olear and wife, Helen, of Baltimore, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 16, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, Smock, with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.
Military Honors will be accorded by V. F. W. Post 47 of Uniontown.
The HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., are conducting the arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
