Emmett N. Hart
Emmett N. Hart, 82, of Bitner, Pa., beloved Husband of Mary K. Lowe Hart, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2002 in the Uniontown Hospital after a brief illness. He was born November 2, 1920 in Star Junction, Pa., son of Matthew Hart and Henrietta Sandusky Hart.
Emmett was a member of Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher.
He was also a member of Nathan Lewis Fort Necessity Lodge No. 254 I.O.O.F., Dawson Masonic Lodge F.&A.M., and United Mine Workers of America District 2 Local 1248, and was a social member of Teamsters Local 491.
He retired from United States Steel Corporation’s Maple Creek Mine and was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army Air Force.
A daughter, Sheila Kaye Hart, a grandson, Neal Alexander Hart, five brothers, Matthew, Charles, James, George and Fredrick Hart, a sister, Margaret Erler, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary K. Lowe Hart; a son, Paul Hart and his wife, Paula, of Owings, Maryland; two daughters: Denise and her husband, David Cullen, of Greensburg, Pa., and Loretta and her husband, Richard Smiley, of Dunbar, Pa.; six grandchildren: Steven Cullen, Sarah Cullen, Jared Cullen, Evan Hart, Keely Smiley, and Christopher Smiley; three brothers: William Hart, Francis Hart and Robert Hart; and four sisters: Christabell Branthoover, Loraine Morgan, Irlean Dragan, Ethel May Ruck; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today after 7 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, December 17, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Mark L. Juengel officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
