Joseph and Donna Smith of Wilmac Street, Uniontown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelly, to Philip Mahoney Jr., son of Philip Sr. and Gayle Mahoney of Dawson Avenue, Uniontown. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and Penn State University.

She is an elementary school teacher with the Uniontown Area School District.

Her fiance’ is a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and is a manager at Fike’s Dairy.

A June 2004 wedding is being planned.
