Firefighter Elizabeth Jane “Beth” Fox
Firefighter Elizabeth “Beth” Jane Fox, 46, of Walnut Avenue, Scottdale, Pa., who was on her 20th year of active service to the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department, Company Number 3 and was the only woman in the history of the Department to achieve that milestone, served as the Fire Department secretary for the past 15 years, present Chairman of the Fire Prevention Committee, who graduated from Southmoreland High School Class of 1975 and has been an employee of H. C. Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant for the past 25 years, died Tuesday morning, December 17, 2002 in H. C. Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. She is survived by her father, George S. Fox, and her stepmother, Grace L. Leasher Fox, of Alverton, Pa.; her only sister, Heidi J. Fox of Tarrs, Pa.; her cousin who helped raise Beth and Heidi after their mother’s death, Sarah “Polly” Grimm of Tarrs; stepbrother, Randy Leasher of Columbus, Ohio; stepsisters: Deborah Schneider of Elkton, Maryland, and Becky Dugger of Scottdale, Pa.; aunts: Margaret Morris of South Carolina, Ruth Newhouse of Texas, and Jane Beltz of Tarrs.
Family will greet Friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home Inc., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, December 20 until 11 a.m.
