Uniontown Warrant arrest
City police, assisted by a state trooper, a Fairchance police officer and a Uniontown police auxiliary member with a K-9, arrested James Evans, 30, of 96 Lemon Wood Acres, who was wanted on a Fayette County bench warrant and other outstanding warrants.
Police said they received an anonymous tip that Evans was hiding in the basement of 43 Clark St. with a handgun at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday. When city and state police arrived, several women exited and said Evans was in the basement. Another woman gave police permission to search the home and said he was barricaded in the basement with a gun, police said. The officers entered and took Evans into custody without incident. Police did not say if he had a gun.

Man injured
David Cunningham, 42, of Nutt Avenue, Uniontown, was injured after being struck by a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Uniontown woman Wednesday evening along South Mount Vernon Avenue at Nutt Avenue, city police said.
Cunningham was flown to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was admitted in stable condition, police said.

Compressor recovered
City police are looking for the owner of a 5.5-horsepower air compressor that was found in the weeds near Lemon Wood Acres on Monday. The owner should call police at 724-437-3430.

Vehicle accident
Anita P. Thorne, 18, of 241 Blosser Hill Road, Lake Lynn, and Amy L. Myers, 18, of 2232 Springhill Furnace Road, Smithfield, were involved in an accident at 4:51 p.m. Dec. 14 at the corner of Fayette Street and Beeson Avenue, city police said. Myers and her passenger, Brandi Whoolery, 17, of Coal Lick Run Street, Uniontown, were transported to Uniontown Hospital with neck and back pain. Thorne and her two passengers were not injured.

Cars collide
Beverly A. Davis, 32, of 102 Lemon Wood Acres and Christine M. Teets, 36, of 126 Peach St., Uniontown, were involved in an accident at the corner of Gallatin Avenue and Penn Street at 10:39 p.m. Monday, city police said. Teets was transported to Uniontown Hospital with back pain.

According to state police, vehicles driven by Kimberly Flight, 35, of Lemont Furnace and Todd Tate, 24, of Mount Pleasant collided on Bute Road at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday.

James Estermyer, 19, of Uniontown told state police that someone stole a television, stereo and DVD player from his front porch on 514 First St. between 11 p.m. Thursday and 11 p.m. Monday.

Charles Kalfut of Outcrop told state police that someone stole a hunting rifle from his residence on Rich Hill School Road between 10:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the weapon was located.

State police said that someone threw eggs at Gilda Renee Yanowsky’s house and mailbox at 316 Main St. between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

State police said Anthony Stepich, 22, of Uniontown was arrested and released on bond for allegedly striking Kristie Vansickle, 20, of Uniontown in the face Wednesday at 12:25 a.m.

According to state police, someone caused $200 damage to a soda machine at the Ronco Volunteer Fire Department and stole $40 from it Sunday between 5:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
