Nellie M. Mayhut
Washington, Pa. Nellie Muscavitch Mayhut, 92, of Washington, Pa., died at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002 in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.
She was born June 18, 1910, in Ellsworth, Pa., daughter of Michael Muscavitch and Nellie Yelesavitch Muscavitch.
Mrs. Mayhut was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers and was former President of the Christian Mothers. She was also a longtime member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Brownsville and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She was a Homemaker whose hobby was travel and she traveled extensively including going on several cruises.
Mrs. Mayhut enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making quilts, crafts and playing cards.
On June 23, 1936 she married Frank Joseph Mayhut. He died May 4, 2000.
Also deceased are two brothers, Michael and Pete Muscavitch, three sisters, Leona Muscavitch, Helen Mucko, Ann Muscavitch, and her parents.
Surviving are two sons: Francis L. Mayhut of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Joseph M. Mayhut of Granite Bay, California; a daughter, Loretta Mitro of Westport, Connecticut; two brothers: Lee Muscavitch of Rices Landing, Pa., and Edward Muscavitch of California, Pa.; three sisters: Frances Giles of Millsboro, Pa., Emma Orban of Washington, Pa., and Elsie Mayhut of West Palm Beach, Florida; three grandchildren: Velia Mitro, Cristina Mitro, and Caitlin Mayhut; two step grandchildren: Dana Zarou and James Wilson; and three step great grandchildren.
The Family will receive Friends in the WILLIAM G. NEAL FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington, Pa., on Friday, December 20, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Kevin McKnight as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park Mausoleum, Waynesburg R.D.1, Pa.
Visitation was also held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
