Mildred M.”Baba” Zubal Kufta
Mildred M. “Baba” (Zubal) Kufta, 85, of Chalk Hill, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died on Thursday, December 19, 2002 in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown. She was born on January 23, 1917 in Kyle, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Stephen Zubal Sr. and Anna (Shimko) Zubal.
Mildred was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown and Uniontown Senior Citizens Grandma Honeys singers and dancers.
She was fondly known as “Baba” by her family and dear friends.
A wonderful Wife, Mother, and Sister, she cherished her grandchildren above all else!
Although sadly missed, her kind heart and adventurous spirit will always be lovingly remembered.
Her parents, husband, Stanley J. Kufta, infant daughter, Gloria Kufta, and four brothers, John Zubal, Andy Zubal, Milan Zubal and infant Urban Zubal, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine Kufta Bobick and her husband, James “Ham” Bobick, and two grandchildren, Laura Bobick and Erik Bobick, all of Chalk Hill, Pa.; a brother, Stephen “Junior” Zubal Jr., and two sisters, Bertha Komanecky and Verna Fowler, all of Uniontown, Pa.; and also nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 21, until 10:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Eugene Yackanich as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
It was Mildred’s sincere wish that in her memory donations be made to the following organizations: the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Mount Macrina Hospice Wing, the Uniontown Senior Citizens c/o Fayette County Community Action, or the American Heart Association.
