John Thomas Frederick
John Thomas Frederick, 83, of Footedale, Pa., passed away Friday, December 20, 2002 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 7, 1919 in Keisterville, Pa., son of John and Amelia Frederick (Frydrych).
Mr. Frederick was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Footedale.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, Life Member of Footedale Volunteer Fire Department, retired from United States Steel Corporation’s Clairton Works, and continuous 55-year member of American Legion Post 0753, New Salem, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth Christobek Frederick in 1996, brothers, Frank and Stanley, sisters, Stella and Helen, and parents.
He is survived by son John Frederick and wife Veronica of Uniontown, Pa.; daughter Paulette Mlakar of Herndon, Virginia; daughter Margaret Gebe and husband John of Lemont Furnace, Pa., and son James Frederick and wife Joy of Uniontown, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Christine, John, Michael, Julie, Michele, Andrea, Emily and Rachel; four great grandchildren: Adriana, Elisabeth, Nathan and Michael, and a sister, Kathryn Litwin of Crucible, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 23, at 12 Noon in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, with Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Thomas Church Cemetery, Footedale, where Military Rites will be accorded by New Salem American Legion Post 753.
Footedale Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services in the Funeral Home today at 7 p.m.
Parish Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m.
