John S. Frayte Sr.
John S. Frayte Sr., 73, of Crucible, and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died on Thursday, December 26, 2002 at home. He was born on July 3, 1929 in Continental Two, Fayette County, Pa., son of Joseph Frayte and Anna Dudra Frayte.
John was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Carmichaels John F. Kennedy Council Greene County General Assembly, and The Moose Club in Waynesburg, Pa.
He had been a Coal Miner for 35 years employed with Humphrey Mine, Blacksville One Mine, and retired from Emerald Mine in Waynesburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude “Trudy” Frayte in 1992, daughter, Christine Ann Frayte in 1980, a brother, Joseph Frayte, a sister, Helen Litman, and his parents.
Surviving are two children: John S. Frayte Jr. and wife, Patty, of Richeyville, Pa., and Patty Christopher and husband, Allen, of Carmichaels, Pa.; four children: Susan Frayte, Michael Frayte, John Christopher and Adam Christopher; two great grandchildren: Heidi Christopher and Jonathan Christopher; four sisters: Joann Semosky of Uniontown, Pa., Pauline Stefanik of Ohio, Mary Ann DeYoung of South Carolina, and Margaret Molinari of New Jersey; many nieces and nephews; and close friend and companion, Carmella Harris, with whom he made his home.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, December 30, until 10:45 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 11:30 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
Parastas Service will be conducted this evening at 7 p.m.
The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Greene County General Assembly will stand Vigil Guard this evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
